Disappointed with this practice’s attitude towards elderly patients. I requested an MRI of my husband’s knee and was denied by the doctor on the basis that he was not a candidate for surgery. But how would we know that he needed surgery without an MRI? Nine serious falls later, I took my husband to another doctor outside of the Methodist system, and he immediately ordered an MRI. It turned out that the cartilage on his knee had worn. We return later this month to hear what the doctor prescribes, but it may well be a viscous shot, rather than surgery, and my husband could perhaps have been spared the pain and bruises. Ageism has no place in medicine, in my considered opinion. Everyone deserves quality of life.

Dr Smith is a great Knee surgeon. I appreciate his warm and gentle caring for me, he is the kind of doctor that makes you feel better by just walking in the room with that friendly and caring concern (smile) he listen to all of my concerns and addressed all my concerns Dr Smith's Nurse Linda Franklin is so awesome she setup all necessary programs and classes to help me understand all information about my knee replacement surgery, she is a great Nurse she always made sure all questions and concerns that I had was answered. Dr. Roy Smith is A Dr. that joined the Long line of Doctors in my life since I sustained a Spinal Injury in 2005 which in turned caused me too loose over a decade of my life too the hospital system and all that that implies. I was on the mend as much as one could be and then the Darkest physical pain approached my body via my left hip. I had many bad experiences with Doctors and Trust was an issue when I was forced too seek medical help with Dr. Smith . With that said; We are still working together too find a solution for me too obtain the physiological tools without unimaginable pain. What must be written about Dr. Roy is that he clearly puts the patient first. He Takes into consideration where you have been , what the patience objectives are and most importantly he is Cautious in every decision he makes in regards too your future physically and mentally . This is a rare breed of Doctor. I would know considering I have a medical background as well as being a chronic pain patient. Dr. Smith does not have a grandiose bone in his body and cares first and foremost on Doing what serves the patient’s needs. I appreciate not being afraid too be heard. I appreciate not feeling rushed and I appreciate Dr. Smith for taking into account my medical past, cautiously approaching my present medical needs and most of all; considering my future. My future is where my Hope lies and too have such a Brilliant, compassionate and witty Dr. Is More than anyone could ask for. I would be remised not too mention Dr.Smiths staff. Linda, Suzanne, Connie and many more bring Communication with the patients too another level. They are the most compassionate team I’ve ever encountered in a life that’s been regrettably lived within the Medical Center but, their energy ,kindness & understanding has made me forget the Many years I’ve had too live in the medical system. I encourage anyone too seek Dr. Smith and his team out when struggling with any diseases of the bones. You will be safe. You will be “ cared” for . This is All Any human being wants and deserves.
